consultancy, established its Engineering Design office in
2006 is currently seeking capable multi-discipline
engineers and designers , self -driven and energetic
candidates, experience in OIL & GAS.
These engineering offices namely PUSB Engineering Sdn
Bhd (PESB) in Miri Sarawak, Malaysia and Petrokon
Utama Sdn Bhd (PUSB) located in Brunei Darussalam.
PESB is an affliated office of Petrokon Utama Sdn Bhd
(PUSB). PUSB is a multi-discipline engineering
consultancy established in Brunei Darussalam in January
1984 to provide design engineering and project
management services to the petrochemical, oil & gas and
building industries. Since inception, PUSB has provided
engineering and design services to their major clients,
Brunei Shell Petroleum Company (BSP), Brunei Liquefied
Natural Gas Company (BLNG) and Elf Petroleum Asia BV.
Candidates should be committed to Quality/ Safety
environmental goals; all roles require a pro-active approach
to inter discipline coordination to development of design
activities.

ENGINEERS
Experience: (Multi-Discipline)
•        With a minimum 7 years of re of relevant
experience relevant discipline design engineering
experience of which 5 years shall be  identifiable
experience in Engineering Design in the offshore and oil
and gas industry.
•        It is preferred that the incumbent be familiar and has
worked with Shell International Design Engineering
Procedures (DEPs)
•        Experience in front end and detailed design.
Required (minimum 5 years).
•        Experience with the Company and/or Shell Group
projects. The candidate shall have working knowledge of
relevant International Standards and Codes of Practice
normally use in Oil & Gas Industry.
•        Candidates shall have fieldwork experience and have
the ability to perform site survey in onshore and offshore
for collecting data, field verification sketches for relevant
discipline.
Process Engineer:
Requirements:
•        Required skills/certificate: Must possess Bachelor’s
Degree in Chemical Engineering or Equivalent.
•        Experience in conceptual studies, FEED detail
design & engineering. HAZOP and design reviews
•        Experience in process simulation is essential,
Familiarity with process Hazard / Risk Analysis is
advantageous
•        Working knowledge in performing process
simulation using HYSIS, PIPESIM, ASPEN and other
relevant software.
•        Process experience shall include onshore &
offshore upstream oil production facilities.
Responsibilities:

To carry out the work allocated by the Head of
Department and/or Senior Engineers e.g.
•        Process simulation of Physical Fluid Properties.
•        Responsibilities will include development of
PFS/UFS, material balances, PEFS/UEFS and Hazardous
Area.
•        Develop Control and Safeguarding Philosophies and
Specifications.
Desirable:
•        Engineering Design experience in ammonia and urea
Fertilizer Plant is an advantage.

Piping Engineer:
Requirements:
•        Required skills/certificate: Must possess Bachelor
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent.
•        With extensive hands-on experience in design and
engineering of piping and equipment layout.
•        Working knowledge wit design codes API, ANSI
and enables to carry out pipe stress analysis using
CAESAR II.
•        Capable of independently producing design
calculations, MTO’s, bill of materials, specifications,
conducting drawing review and vendor design evaluation.
•        Must be familiar with relevant design codes API,
ANSI, DIN, BS, and experience in Caesar software
analysis.
•        Exposure to PDMS piping 3D is essential for
checking

Responsibilities:
To carry out the work allocated by the Head of Department
e.g.

•        Undertake mechanical design within multi-discipline
teams.
•        Provide detailed engineering input during all design
phases, including interpretation and challenge of standards.
•        Actively communicate with other disciplines areas
of interface including the design development, review and
check processes.
•        Support design/drawing office personnel with
specialize engineering input.
•        Prepare requisition and technical bids for discipline
material and equipment procurement and ensure that the
equipment vendors provide timely and quality input design
packages.
•        Review all third party discipline design work.
•        Capable of independently producing design
calculations.
•        Participate in discipline design reviews.
Desirable:
•        Engineering Design experience in ammonia and urea
Fertilizer Plant is an advantage.




Instrument Engineer:

Requirements:
•        Required skills/certificate: Must possess Bachelor
Degree in Engineering or Equivalent.
•        Experience in conceptual studies, FEED, Detail
Design & Engineering- Control System, and Instrument.
•        Preparation of data sheets and Instrument Index in
Intools.
•        Shall be conversant with Ms Office, Intools
package, Valve sizing calculations, flow element sizing.
Responsibilities:
•        Perform engineering design duties associated with
the design development of the Oil & Gas Plant.
•        Duties include Control system selection and
specification, detail design in collaboration with designers,
bid evaluation/vendor document review.
•        Perform control valve sizing calculations, flow
element sizing calculation, thermo well wake frequency
calculations.
•        Provide input to develop P & IDs, control &
shutdown narratives and Cause and Effect diagram.
•        Work to be performed in accordance with broad
technical guidelines and with minimal supervision.
•        Ability to work to tight deadlines and priorities work
to achieve them.
Desirable:
•        Engineering Design experience in ammonia and urea
Fertilizer Plant is an advantage.

Electrical Engineer:

Requirements:
•        Required skills/certificate: Must possess Bachelor
Degree in Electrical Engineering.
•        Experience in conceptual studies, FEED detail
design & engineering design reviews.
Responsibilities:
•        Provide detailed engineering input during all design
phases, including interpretation challenge of standards
•        Actively communicate with other disciplines to
optimise areas of interface, during the design development,
review and check processes.
•        Support design/drawing office personnel with
specialist engineering input.
•        Prepare requisitions and technical evaluation of bids
for discipline materials and equipment procurement.
Ensure equipment vendors provide timely and quality input
into design packages. Review all third party discipline
design work.
•        Ensure design packages meet the relevant safety,
environmental and ergonomic standards.
•        Participate in and sometimes lead, discipline design
reviews.

Civil/Structural Engineer:

Requirements:

•        Required skill / certificate: Must posses Bachelor
Degree in Civil Engineering with strong chemical
background in structural analysis and design (concrete and
steel) with good knowledge of geotechnical engineering,
•        Familiar with International Standard such as ACI,
BS, AISC & etc. Conversant with STAAD and other
engineering software’s.
•        Capable of working in state of the art engineering
office for Brownfield engineering where quality design
deliverables have to be issued.
Responsibilities:

•        Prepare designs, sketches and reports with
supporting calculations for projects and supply drafting
staff with information to assist in the production of
detailed drawings, the development of quantities, materials
lists and cost estimates as required.
•        Assist in the preparation of technical details for
quotations, contract documentation and technical
specifications.
•        Participate in the planning of projects as required.

Material Engineer:
Experiences / Requirements:
•        Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or
Equivalent.
•        Must have experience in all aspects of material
selection & specification for oil and gas industry.
•        With a minimum 7 years of relevant experience of 5
years shall be identifiable experience in oil and gas industry.
•        Candidate shall have working experience with the
company and/or SHELL Group projects.


Responsibilities:
•        Write out Technical Specifications for material.
•        Responsible for technical issues related to materials.
•        Raise Technical Query relating to materials
specifications.
•        Recommend alternative Material Specification as
required.
•        To fully understand technical requirements of
materials required from design work packages.
•        To communicate, make follow up to resolve
differences and incorporation of materials.
•        Raise MCR (Material Catalogue Request) for items
generic materials.

Designers & Senior Designers: Piping / Instrumentation /
Electrical /Civil Structural

Experience: (Multi-Disciplines)

•        With a minimum 7 years of relevant experience in
relevant discipline design engineering experience of which
5 years shall be  identifiable experience in the offshore and
oil and gas industry.
•        A designer performs non-routine and complex
assignment involving responsibility for planning and
conducting a complete project. Selects and adapts plans,
techniques, designs, and coordinates the work. Reviews,
analyses, and integrates the technical requirements and
design approach.
•        Conversant in AutoCAD 2000, 2005. Knowledge in
PDMS is a plus.
Designers shall have the ability to interface with multi
discipline design personnel.
•        Conversant in AutoCAD 2000, 2005. Knowledge in
Auto plant & PDMS is a plus.
for Mechanical Designers shall have the ability to interface
with multi discipline design personnel.
•        Senior Designers role involves leading small teams
of designers and draftsmen in the preparation of design
drawings for offshore and onshore facilities, This will
involve closely and interacting with relevant discipline
designers & engineers to develop technical solution in an
efficient and pro-active manner. Activities also include
checking of work performed by others; demonstrate
competencies in generation of bill of materials for
estimating and procurement purposes and detail of
facilities. Ability to create accurate design drawings from
base project information.
•        Candidates shall have fieldwork experience and have
the ability to perform site survey in onshore and offshore

Desirable:
•        Design experience in ammonia and urea Fertilizer

Piping Designer:
Requirements:
•        Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or 2 years
Degree as a minimum with equivalent experience.
•        Responsible for preparing as plant layout, general
arrangement drawings, mechanical and piping design
drawings
•        Capable of working on a variety of projects, to
deliver design drawings and final construction/detail
drawings
•        Able to comply with applicable codes and standards.
•        Ensuring drawing packages are delivered within the
project time schedule.
Responsibilities:
•        Reporting to Lead Piping/Mechanical Engineer
•        Produce piping/mechanical discipline deliverables to
the agreed schedule
•        Apply recognised piping engineering design/drafting
principles, accuracy and overall quality
•        Apply good interpersonal skills, liaising with
members of other discipline and departments
•        Awareness and willingness to work as a team
member
•        Able to check work packs and design drawing
packages
•        Provide guidance to other design drafting personnel

Electrical Designer:
Requirements:
•        Diploma in Electrical Engineering or 2 years Degree
as a minimum with equivalent experience.
•        Bachelor Degree in Electrical or Equivalent
•        Able to interpret technical drawings
•        Able to prepare basic engineering drawings
•        Capable of advanced engineering detail drafting and
checking
•        To work without direct supervision and to be able
to provide advice and direction to others
•        Trade experience would be advantageous

Responsibilities:

•        Prepare detail design drawings in conjunction with
engineers
•        Ensure work completed meets all acceptance
criteria with respect to HSE, quality, technical
competency, cost and schedule
•        Ensure that the level of design work is appropriate
for the complexity of the construction tasks
•        Ensure work conforms to the applicable
specifications, codes and standards
•        Liaison with other disciplines on technical issues
•        Able to check work packs and design drawing
packages
•        Provide guidance to other designer drafting
personnel.
Instrument Designer:
Requirements:
•        Diploma in Instrument Engineering or 2 years
Degree as a minimum with equivalent experience.
•        Excellent 2D computer design skills with AutoCAD
•        Excellent skills with Ms office package
•        Able to interpret technical drawings
•        Ability to create accurate design drawings from
base project information
•        Able to establish and manage effective workplace
relationships
•        Ability to interact effectively with people and use
clear, fluent and expressive verbal and written language to
convey information and ideas
•        Knowledge of the requirements for Instrument
installations within hazardous areas.
•        Some experience with 3D modeling systems such
as Intools PDMS
•        Exposure to site surveys, construction or
commissioning support on O & G facilities.
•        Trade experience would be advantageous
•        Able to do Instrument Hook-ups

Responsibilities:

•        Able to check work packs & design drawing
packages
•        Provide guidance to other design drafting personnel
•        Produce and check design drawings and lists for a
given project
•        Maintain project files
•        Liaise with other disciplines to develop design
•        Production of conceptual layouts and surveys
•        Production and self checking of design drawings
•        Production and self-checking of MTO’s

Civil/ Structural Designer:
Requirements:
•        Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering or 2 years
Degree as a minimum with equivalent experience.
•        Experience wit Auto CAD
•        To work without direct supervision and to be able
to provide advise and discretion to adhere
•        Exposure to industrial facilities
Responsibilities:
•        Execution of engineering design/drafting tasks
•        Ensure work done meets all acceptance criteria with
respect to safety, quality, technical competency, cost and
schedule
•        Monitor progress, budget and schedule
•        Overall man-hour key performance indicators for
assigned work
•        Conduct site investigations/surveys
•        Prepare detail designs in conjunction with engineers
•        Produce work packs, design & drawings, MTO’s,
weight calculations
•        Checking of work packs & design drawings
packages
•        Ensure that the level of design work is appropriate
for the complexity of the construction tasks
•        Ensure work done conforms to applicable
specification, codes and standards
•        Liaison with other disciplines on technical issues.
